MessageAlfredo Lim's "quotable quote"Jul 24, '06 11:11 PM
by Virna for everyone
"The law applies to all. Otherwise, none at all."

Is it just me who thinks this is weird Engrish?

I think it's a literal translation from the Filipino. Something like, "Ang batas ay para sa lahat. Kung hindi, wala na lang." (or something.)

Anyway, if you think it does make sense, let me know. I'm confused.

The funny thing is that you can see this quote anywhere! An Engrish nugget of questionable wisdom propagated by folks who don't know better.

not to defend alfie lim... but when you think about it, he's one of the few, if not the only, politician with a real "quotable quote"... mali na kung mali, wierd kung wierd... but is sure beats sticking your thumb in the air (ramos) or "you are nothing but a fungus face... and you can go stick your finger in the wall socket" (brenda)
